Introduction

Danger zone! This article covers how to delete your Calaxy account permanently. Once you delete your account, you will lose access to the main Calaxy app, and any Worlds you were a member of at the time of account deletion.

Step 1: Backup Your Wallet

Before deleting your account, you will need to backup your wallet. Your wallet (and the assets inside of it) will remain with you beyond your life in Calaxy, so its important to make sure you can restore your wallet in other apps before deleting your account (and access to your wallet).

Backing Up An Easy Wallet:

Easy Wallets are powered by Magic Link, so you will backup your easy wallet using Magic Link's backup method on their website.

1. From the Wallet options menu in Calaxy (or any World), select "Backup Wallet"

2. Select each network you want to backup from the dropdown (eg. Solana, Base, Hedera) and tap "Backup Wallet"

3. You will be redirected to Magic Link's website to complete the backup.

Repeat this process for each network you want to backup.

Backing Up An Advanced Wallet:

Advanced Wallets are full self-custody wallets secured by keyphrases and private keys. To backup an advanced wallet:

1. From the Wallet options menu in Calaxy (or any World), select "Backup Wallet"

2. Select "Tap To Reveal Phrases" and complete the auth steps to reveal (FaceID or PIN code entry)

3. Tap the "Copy 12-Word Keyphrase" button just below the phrase to temporarily copy the keyphrase to your phone's clipboard

4. Securely store your keyphrase in a location/method of your choosing for safe keeping and future reference

5. Then, select each network you want to backup from the dropdown, and copy over the wallet address and private keys to a location of your choosing for safe keeping and future reference

Step 2: Delete Your Account

To delete your account permanently, follow these steps:

1. From the Profile options menu in Calaxy (or any World), go to "Settings > My Account"

2. Scroll to the bottom and tap the "Delete Account" button

3. If you haven't done so yet, Backup Your Wallet and then check the confirmation box indicating you have backed up your wallet. Then tap "Continue"

4. [If you have an advanced wallet - follow this step, otherwise skip to step 5]: We will conduct a quick sanity check to make sure you have backed up your wallet by asking you to enter 3 random words from your recovery phrase. Enter the 3 words correctly according to their order in the keyphrase chain, and tap "Continue"

5. Tap the red "Delete Account" button and follow the confirmation prompts to permanently delete your Calaxy account

6. Once the account is deleted, you will be brought back to the main login screen.

7. From the main login screen, you are free to either delete the Calaxy App (Or World), or create a new account and start a new adventure!
