Introduction

WORLDS are mini social apps built and owned by their Creators. Worlds can be fully branded and installed to a phone just like regular mobile apps (but installed from a web page, not the app store*). World's can have different access modes like "Open", "Invite Only", "Subscription", and "Token Gated." Worlds can also be private or discoverable. This article series teaches you everything there is to know about WORLDS.

*Each WORLD gets installed from a webpage at the home URL of the WORLD. (eg. https://kcsocial.calaxy.com/). WORLDS currently work on mobile phones only. Desktop & tablet support is coming soon.

🌎 What Is A World?

A "WORLD" is a white-label carbon copy of the main Calaxy App, with a custom name and branding, and completely under your control. WORLDS are mini social apps used for community building and Creator monetization. WORLDS behave similarly to Patreon or Substack but come out-of-the-box with a much more complete selling engine to monetize your fans. WORLD branding is also far more powerful — fans will see your WORLD as YOUR APP (Not Calaxy).

🧠 The best way to think about a WORLD: a newsletter on steroids. You own the audience, your connection to them (export at any time), and your ability to monetize the audience directly with a powerful suite of monetization tools.

Examples:

• A TikToker worried about being cancelled sets up her WORLD app as her home base and builds a direct connection to her fans there, removing platform risk from being booted from TikTok.

• A fighting league like Karate Combat sets up a WORLD (KCSocial) to cultivate loyalty from its fanbase.

• A music artist launches his WORLD to sell private experiences to his superfans directly through the app

Own Your Audience

If you build a following on instagram or TikTok, you don't own that following, the platform does. You can't export the followers off-app — so you are basically stuck on that platform if you want to access that follower base.

With WORLDS, you own the members. Each person that joins your WORLD, is a connection you can export off app anytime you want, just like a newsletter (first name, last name, email, etc).

Create Your Economy

If you are a verified Creator, WORLDS comes out of the box with 11 ways to make money (and we are adding more soon). The selling engine inside your WORLD, mixed with all the social features (Group chats, home feed etc) give you a powerful arena to build a sustainable business.

Become The Platform

Say goodbye to shadow banning and deplatforming risk. When you launch a WORLD app, you become the platform. You are the king of the land inside your WORLD. You set the rules (who can post), you own the Shop, you take commisions from other sellers in your WORLD. And NO ONE, including Calaxy — will boot you. Calaxy's core mission is to "free the internet, one world at a time." Becoming the platform is the NEW WORLD ORDER.

🚀 Launching Your World

Creating your own WORLD happens on the WORLD LauchPad. This is a quick little launch manager that will help you set everything up quickly and easily. The LaunchPad is located on the WORLD sidebar in the Home tab of the main Calaxy App or any WORLD app you happen to be in.

🚪 Joining A World

It doesn't matter which WORLD you sign up for first, the Calaxy account you create will be used as a single sign-on account across all WORLDS (in addition to the main Calaxy app). Each world will have its own credential requirements (some Worlds for example, are subscription-only, some are invite only, and others wide open) — but in all cases, your main Calaxy account will stay with you wherever you adventure to.
