Introduction

Every Calaxy account comes with a digital wallet to safely and securely handle your financial matters on the platform. Wallets are basically your financial hub and help you transact with other people and Creators you may come across on your adventures. If you are a verified Creator, your wallet is also where instant payouts land as you successfully deliver services & experiences listed in your Shop.

Wallets can hold 3 kinds of assets: Cash, Crypto, and Collectibles on supported networks. Read on to learn more about each, and the full wallet features.

💰 Cash

"Cash" is any traditional currency (like US Dollars) that sit in your wallet. Currently, the Calaxy wallet supports US dollars, but we may add more in the future. Cash balances are only available to verified Creators only.

🤑 Crypto

"Crypto" is any digital cryptocurrency like Bitcoin ($BTC), Solana ($SOL), and stablecoins like $USDC. You can currently buy, send, receive, and hold in your wallet any crypto on supported networks. There are also a limited number of crypto that can be used as payment methods when buying services from Creators.

💎 Collectibles

"Collectibles" are a special type of object inside the Calaxy platform that can be held in your wallet, bought*, resold*, and traded with your friends. Currently, you can upload and turn images and videos into Collectibles from inside your wallet. We will be expanding support for additional file formats soon.

*Calaxy does not currently support direct buying & selling of Collectibles on the platform, but you can send the Collectible to a third party marketplace for trading (if desired). We are however, considering introducing this functionality in the future.

Two key actions that you will likely do a lot of is sending and receiving Crypto & Collectibles to/from your wallet. Maybe your friend is paying you back for pizza last night by sendng you $USDC on Calaxy, or maybe you are promoting a new art collection by sending some friends an digital version of the artwork to their Calaxy wallet. Whatever the scenario, sending and receiving assets to/from your wallet is a core part of the wallet on Calaxy.

When you buy something from a Creator's Shop, you spend crypto, or dollars from a connected card held in your wallet. The reason commerce happens so seamlessly on Calaxy (or in any WORLD app) is because everyone has digital wallets that handle all the boring, time consuming stuff related to transactions.
