Introduction

Remember Cameo? Video Messages on Calaxy are basically Cameo: a fan sends you a request, you record and send back a video — and get paid instantly. Pretty simple!

📹 Enabling Video Messages

To enable Video Messages in your Shop, do the following:

  1. From your own profile, tap "Manage My Shop" (or "Setup Shop" if you haven't enable any products yet)

  2. In the Services section, tap "Setup" beside the "Video Message" product

  3. Set the Video Message fee

  4. Tap "Activate Video Messages" button to turn on Video Messages

Congrats! Fans can now request video messages in your Shop.

📨 Delivering Video Messages

When a fan buys a video message from you, it will show up as a Job in the Messages > Jobs tab. You will also get a notification about it. Video messages can have expiry times associated with them (fan needs the video by XYZ date/time) so be sure to pay attention to any expiry timers attached to the Job.

To complete a Video Message Job:

  1. Go to the Messages > Jobs tab.

  2. Tap on the Video Message Job to open it and view the job details

  3. Review the job details, record a video on your phone (length is your choice) addressing whatever the fan is asking for

  4. Upload the video to the job details box and hit "Send Video Message"

  5. Calaxy will automatically send the video to the fan inside the chat, and your payout will instantly drop to your wallet.

Video Message FAQs:

Can a fan cancel a video request?

Fans can cancel video requests anytime before you complete the job. This will trigger an automatic refund.

What if I don't like the video request?

If you don't like a certain request for whatever reason, you can safely ignore the job and eventually the fan will cancel it and take their payment back. We always recommend sending a quick message to the fan in the chat, letting them know you aren't able to complete their request, and ask them to cancel it.

Can I change the price of my video message product anytime?

Yes! You can change the price of a Video Message product anytime you want in your Shop Manager. When you change the price, any active Video Message jobs on your Jobs list will remain at the original price paid by the fan. But any Video Messages purchase after your price change, will be quoted the new price.

What if my fan isn't happy with my video?

Calaxy does not provide refunds to unhappy fans. But if you feel its appropriate, you can always text them a redo video directly in your chat with them. Its really up to you depending on the situation.
